A wonderful reminder of those lovely Parisian wine bars, even down to the large blackboard on the wall, with a map of France showing the location of the vineyards relating to the available wines, and the other typically French decorations.
Bar seating at the front of the premises and relatively limited table seating at the rear, but very authentic ambience, with most of the staff appearing to be French and an interesting and varied menu. All food well cooked, and presented with Parisian flair and finesse from a reasonably varied menu, resulting in a thoroughly enjoyable evenig meal.
Visited Chez Elle's twice while visiting London and staying in Brick Lane. Once for Brunch and once for Dinner. The welcome was warm, the food amazing and the service first class. The only average thing about Chez Elle's is the prices. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
Nothing is better than a meal at Chez Elles in my opinion. From the ambience (think Parisienne/Lyonnais Bistro) to the offerings (well priced and well made), I love everything about this joint.
Perhaps the best part of all is that it's located in an area one wouldn't think to visit for great french food. This has the bonus of keeping out the hipsters who love visiting the area a few streets over.
my favourite dishes are:
- cassoulet
- boudin blanc
- almond pie
- bavette
